Nike says "Just Do it" Tonight Bobby and Phil said": "WE ARE BACK" when u look at the term self actualization and were at tonight's show you witness a great time with two icons along with a Stella hand picked band. no pressure nothing to prove just a blissful and rollicking night of pure grateful dead without Jerry, although as much as he is and will always be missed. there is music in the air and the time is right for it, I was smiling from 7 53 pm to 11 52 pm as did when I was at radio city in 80, Philly in 82, all spac shows and Rocheste shows ... to my last at Albany 95 my God that Row Jimmy,is still in my head. r so many.more and tonight was Peaceful with so much love and energy and the encore Weight was played . Thank you Bob and Phil may you have another journey to explore. and share with all those who Love you. wb

An incredible show. Hard to describe without doing it injustice. I agree totally with Will, no pressure, just a great f'ing time. Great crowd, amiable atmosphere...floor seats. Woot. The Sugaree was just...hehe...it just brought us "there", "Must Have Been the Roses"...well, let's just say Jerry was with us, somehow, helping out. The Scarlet/Fire was amazing, the Viola Lee sent me into another dimension, and i was totally sober. 8D
John was right on...Bobby really churned it out...Phil was bopping us with his bombs, the drummers were literally bouncing in their seats. Whew. Thanks guys.

Great show!!! It really looks like that Bob and Phil are really enjoying themselves with this lineup. First set was very good but the second set was on fire. The Weight is always a great closer....thanks for a great time last night.

First set was I was slightly disapointed with the song selection.
Second set they just about took the roof off the place. Nice job boys and ladies. The addition of the ladies on vocals is great. Thanks for a great show

Agree - the first set included good songs, but they were pretty mellow tunes - I like my live music a little more lively. The second set really delivered! Looking forward to Amherst tonight.

I totally agree with Elissa. Incredible show and indescribeable without doing an injustice. I've seen many Dead shows with Jerry , Further and Ratdog (although never the pleasure of seeing PAF). This lineup is absolutely the best sounding since Jerry. They are RIGHT ON !!!! Great to see Bobby and Phil together again , doing what they do best (TOGETHER !!). All I can say I feel bad for the folks who boycott or badmouth these shows because Jerry isn't there. I got news fer ya. He IS in the building at these shows ! All I can say is Thanks Bobby , Phil and the rest of the guys and girls in the band from ALL of us out there ! KEEP ON TRUCKIN

Great fun! Half the arena was blocked off, so there was about 4500-5000 heads inside and it seemed like very few wandering around outside. We gotta get the word out people...I don't think the mainstream realizes how good this band is or that they even exist!
The show rocked, highlights for me were Money for Gasolene and Loose Lucy. The new lady singers were like the 3-D effects in Avatar, subtle yet extremely effective. Johnny K was smokin! He seemed much more comfortable then he did when I last saw Furthur in Wallingford last December. The band as a whole seemed more cohesive and comfortable than they did that first tour.
All in all, super great fun! I Can't wait to see some spring or summer shows! Don't forget--TELL YOUR FRIENDS, TELL YOUR ENEMIES, TELL YOUR GRANDMA--JUST DON'T TELL THE MAN...THE BEST BAND IN AMERICA IS COMING TO YOUR TOWN!

Unbelievable show, no words to describe it. It's like I was sitting in Nassau Coliseum or MSG 30 years ago.
Please, please please add Red Rocks to your tour!!!!!!!

I just want to add to what everyone is saying regarding the way the music is playing this band right now. Ive seen two of the shows on this tour so far, Atlanta, and Buffalo, and the NY shows in November, as well as hundreds of GD, Dead, PAF, RD, Other Ones, and everything in between, and this is the most inspiring music Ive heard in 25 years. I cannot emphasize enough what a blessing it is to have Phil & Bobby share this with us all.....may that great bearded spirit in the sky bless you guys for this!!!! This band is BRINGIN IT..... every song, every night, and by my reckoning, it can only be because they love it as much as we do. It doesnt matter how long it took for this to incarnation....or perhaps reincarnation, to happen, only that it is happening, and I wish I could be at every show. JK and Chimenti, you absolutely freaking rock! Happy Birthday Phil....... and Bobby, it's sure great to hear your voice once again......RIIIIIDE RIIIIIDE RIIIIDE!!!

All I can say is WOW, The're back. Nobody can lay down a bass line like Phil. The second set was unbelievable. John can play all of Jerry's parts flawlessly. You can tell that Phil and Bob are glad to be playing this stuff again. Warren Hanes was great but wasn't really true to the material. The energy in that place was just like I remember the Dead. I must say that the first set was a little weak. John doesn't really have the stage presence yet for songs like "Loser" or "Must have been the roses" but he more than makes up for it with his second set style guitar work. Lets all hope this band keeps on touring. I'll be at every show I can get to.

I have been purposely holding off a review of this show since I wanted to get my head around what we witnessed Thursday night.
Seeing Bobby and Phil playing together again was terrific and only seeing RatDog for the last 7 or 8 years I had forgotten what a distinctly different sound and tightness Phil brings to the music. He sets the pace, keeps the beat and as a result we listened to the tightest music I have heard in a very long time.
I was so pleased when I arrived to find the arena setup to be roughly half what I expected. It created a really nice intimate setting and that was no accident. The boys are so much about the music that this decision to set up the arena was a terrific gift to us.
The quality of the music was great and John certainly adds a new, yet incredibly familiar sound to any version of the band since Jerry passed. I loved it and I wish I could go again tonight.
The only downside for me and this is not criticism, was listening to the licks John was delivering made me miss Jerry even more. I guess that is expected and will never change. So there was a solid thrill for me to hear our music once again played to a level that we all grew up with but at the same time made me sad that our beloved Jerry is gone and he is never coming back.
The most poignant lyric of the night for me was during the 2nd set opener Truckin, "what a long strange trip it's been". Never more true this past Thursday night.

The first set is decent. I love every deep elem they do. The sugaree smokes, also.
The second set is awesome. The best Viola of the tour so far. I am tired of the Ryan adam's slot...the only weak spot of the second set. The Scarlet>Fire is nice. The best Scarlet is still Hampton. The fire clocks in at 9 minutes...JK should really try to do those 20 minute versions that the boys were doing in 1994.
