Didn't know where to post this comment or observating so forgive me if this place is not pertaining to this show. I saw Furthur in Wallingford and have been listening to the shows and wanted a place for my voice regarding the Ryan Adams covers, namely "Magnolia Mountain", "Peaceful Valley" and "Nobody's Girl", all great songs BTW but by the artist and not necessarily this band. There are dozens of songwriters Furthur could have covered, Neil Young for example so not sure why so much emphasis on Adams in the same league as Dylan or Lennon for instance. Not bad covers or songs but 3 making there way into the setlists? Liked Joan Osbourne singing "Nobody's Girl" with Phil but do not feel John's singing compare. Also saw Phil cover "Let it Ride" and "Cold Roses". Like I said not bad songs, covers ok, but why when there is so much more to be interpreted. Floyd's "Time" was a propo on New Year's. I would rather see Adams join the band to sing himself like he did at the Jammy's with Phil on "Warf Rat". Wondered if anyone other than Phil himself could answer this affinity with Adams music if so why not cover Whiskytown, Adams former band?

Hey Bob From CT---You really need to relax and not be so critical of what they cover and from whom. It's retarded, just be thankful they are playing at all. Excuse me I mean Grateful. Really, did you really need to spend all that time on such bullshit. Get over it and enjoy what they give you.

The show was fantastic. I couldn't have been happier. Ripple as the encore made my night...

Bob- You don't need to relax and be as critical as you wish. It's your opinion and its a solid point. Being able to question the actions, song choices, and tone of this band and the Dead in general has always been a part of my love affair with the band. Its like rooting for a sports team. Questioning their choices in the offseason and looking at the stats is a part of the deal. It's half the fun! Luckily this team had a hell of an off season and picked up some all-stars.

I'm with Bob, the Ryan Adams songs just don't do it for me. It's one more opinion and this is the reviews sections so please don't blast me (and Bob) with the hate.... And I'll agree with Joe following a tour is like following your team through an NFL season (was actually think about the same exact analogy this past week.) You won't love everything they do, and you'll scream at your tv at some point but you'll be tuning in next week (or the next night) to see how they fair.
Peace and love to all.

Sad to say I was only able to catch 1 show of this tour. I was truly blown away. The difference between Furthur and the Dead was like night and day. Dont get me wrong I love Warren and and just about everything he does. But with John in the mix I think its what everyone has been waiting for. Just remember with Jerry...Nothings gonna bring him back, so you have to hope for the next best thing. With Furthur I think they found it. Lets all count our blessings that Phil is still around to get together with his ol pal Bobby. I guess what Im trying to say is I would pay whatever it cost to see them just tune there instruments. Would I have rather heard different tunes..yes, was I disapointed...no. Would I do it again...YES. One of these days they are going to hang it up and then what. So keek the faith people and and hope the boys take it Furthur down the road.

Thankful that we have Furthur and actually really like Ryan Adams, the Cardinals, and Whiskeytown, think "Cold Roses" is a masterpeice of an album. Just wondering why Phil has covered 5 of his songs, that's all. Ryan Adams was the only musician to play Garcia's "Wolf" in concert. Why not give the guitar to John to play?

Real nice first set. A great Music and alligator. JK does a great Duprees and On the Road Again is one of the better cowboy tunes. Hurricane is ok. Corinna was second set material. The don't cheese me in was fine.
The second set starts with a cool Hard to Handle and continues with an energetic and well jammed 1/2 step. Why does Bob have to split verses with JK on so many songs? He already hacks enough Jerry tunes. The get back was fine for the second set beatles slot. The He's gone and throw away are standard. JK brings it back with a hot After Midnight. Prefer Death Dont with JK singing, but still nice to hear. The Shakedown is solid, not as strong as Hampton, but good. Bucket is not my favorite show closer. Ripple was fine
The Rankings:
1) Hampton
2) Farifax
3) Atlanta
4) Miami
5) Orlando
6) Buffalo
7) Cornell
8) Asheville
9) Bethlehem, PA
10) Charlotte
I am biased to exploration in the second set. On this tour...has not happened since Hampton...Mason's>GDTRFB was one great jam into the next.

You people who are this critical, of this band is simply amazing. Some of you wanna compare this sports teams, get a grip. So you want your cake and eat it too. These guys, Bob and Phil, put together a great band and with that, you wanna bitch and moan on COVER TUNES. Please don't ever buy another ticket. Let the others who are GRATEFUL see the show and go see PHISH
