Reviews
Further indeed. This show made me want to be a Daedhead again! Loved it. Great venue as well.

Sadly I have only HEARD the shows via The Archives and will be missing the upcoming NY and NJ shows due to back surgery planed on Dec13... I would love to talk to someone who was actually AT the shows.... Is it what we have been waiting for? Were the smiles present on all as I envisioned while listening to theses Jams? Did it bring them back? I know it will never be the same but while accepting that I can, and will, always hope The Music Never Stops. my e-mail is sweendog67@verizon.net

Funny not to see any reviews here for this run of shows.... So I'll post one. This comes from a guy who started seeing the boys in '79 and has a hard time turning it off.
I saw Rat Dog play at the Kaiser the Mardi Gras show right the spring after Jerry died, very emotional gig. This was right there with it.
The venue was stunning. That was my first time inside and 'wow' what a theater. The sound was warm and the recordings that are floating around are reflective of sound from those nights.
Friday was full of anticipation. The boys did not let down. Great energy. The place was a buzz and over the top. Bobby especiall seemed happy to be bouncing around on the trails. I don't quite know where to place it as a show because it seemed so damn energetic. The set list was as heavy in person as it looks on paper.
Saturday was the best playing of the three shows. It reminded me of a heavy Bobby night back in the day. The playing was a little more relaxed and fluid, not the raw energy from the night before, but smooth as silk.
Sunday had too many Jerry songs (IMHO). The seemed to struggle with them. The energy was there and everything seemed right until the big choruses came up and everyone knew what was missing.
All in all the shows were fantastic and a great line up. I am very excited about the Bill Graham Civic shows. It looks like it will be a happy new year.
To answer is it what we have been waiting for? Damn, I don't think that will happen, but this sure is close. Defiantly a must see!
