WOW...Did you see the MAGIC show at the start of the 1st set>>>AMAZING...What a great night THANKS:)
Ron , Meredith NH
Great show. The boys are playing better and better each night. The XL Center was rockin all night long. I preferred the first set over the second but what a jam the second turned out to be. Warren seems more comfortable. They finally turned Jeff up and imo, he played very well. Mickey and Bill were flawless, although it appeared as though Mickey was having technical difficulties at the beginning of Drums. Bob and Phil love CT. and again, did not disappoint. At this point you have to take what you can get, and no matter what that may be, consider it Great and be Grateful. Thank you for the music and the memories.

Glory Road sucks. If I wanted to hear shitty country, I'd go see Toby Keith. Dismally slow for most of the night...Cumberland, King Solomon's Marbles and Viola Lee Blues were all rockin' and drums was pretty funky...otherwise, big snooze fest.

Always fun to see a dead show and hartford, where i saw my first show in 83- st stephen! -has mellowed with the in-house security, which is cool, you can move around.
A good time, a weird 2nd set that wasn't packed with the usual trip wind down classics- scar/fire/est/eyes, for example but still, a nice black peter, and the ripple encore was cool, I'd never heard that live. Along with till the morning comes in set 1 made it like pulling the plastic wrapper off the American Beauty album way back when and getting all into THAT stuff.
Nice.

Excellent show, power song selection, Warren seems to have a growing comfort level. But, Jerry songs must be sung by Warren (at least the opening verse) or the energy gets sucked right out of the room. 'Till the mornin' comes, viola lee and cumberland blues were my highlites. Peace.
Harry, Chappaqua
Great show. Warren doing the Jimi licks during Watchtower was smokin'. Cumberland was like a runaway freight train. Very hot. Till the am comes was great except for a couple of lyrical miscues. Would have like to have seen US Blues for an encore though. All in all a great show.

Hartford was a fine show, opening with Bertha, closing with Ripple and many quality songs in between. It was a rocking show, rather than a space show, but somewhat on the mellow rock side, but the set list was obviously built to the strengths of the band as it exists TODAY. I've heard soundboards of three of the shows so far, and these are definitely the best songs for this band.

pretty slow and an easy setlist im glad i only got my tix for 41 a piece or id be pretty pissed. watchtower and drums/ space were my highlights. ripple as an encore was too predictable. but i understand you gotta calm the masses.

Cumberland Blues was the song of the night. Watchtower was hot too. The energy was good and everyone seemed to be enjoying the vibes. Saw Hippie Bill walking around on the floor after the show. Sheldon was there with his New York crew. Wish I was going to Jersey......

Great sets with some of my favorites - West LA, Watchtower, Cumberland, & VIOLA LEE... Bobby needs to up his dosage of Gingko Biloba! Warren needs the big green light on vocals! Warren seemed ready to pounce, and I felt like he could have put many tunes into high gear if given the chance.
I have to say that I was VERY disappointed with the Hartford PD - scetchy tactics with billy clubs and pepper spray on shakedown - much more kind in Albany & Worcester.

Another GREAT show!
Hold on............... after more than 4 years with no Dead, any time these guys get together it is a great show! They are putting it on the line every night and their musical ability far exceeds mine and most of my fellow posters...
I am not going to these shows to hear a Barton Scarlet> Fire... and neither should you... for shame, having damn near 40 years of shows to pick favorites from and say that the these shows suck...
Isn't that the idea with EXPERIMENTAL/IMPROVISATIONAL MUSIC -- some times its oh so right and some times its so wrong......... then the inevitable crash and burn...
It is my belief that thenewest incarnation of the Dead are playing their hearts out every time they set foot on the stage and I have been sitting close enough on a regular basis in affirmation of my comments.
Through the years the dead has evolved as a band and some of the snobby fans scoffed and scoffed... I'll bet you all remember making fun of "Touch Heads" well, true to form they continue to turn their nose up. Personally, the best irony is those in the lot bitching about this and that then smiling and dancing inside the venue.
Ticket price is what it is... I am no silver spooner or trustifarian, rather I have been denying myself some creature compforts to foot this bill...
They are taking the music in different directions as they would have anyway and it is exciting to see where they go... And as many times as I can make it happen, I will be there to see the magic happen...
A piece of advice for the nay sayers.........
go follow Phish.

overall it was a great show but i think the past 4 days had them a little tired and espcially the night before at MSG. a few forgotten vocals cues and bloopers can be forgiven though. ive heard every show so far and have been liking what i hear. so far my farorite run of shows from this tour is from the 14th to 19th.

You must be kidding...if the music sucks, it sucks. They don't get a free ride just for showing up. As a musician myself, I have much more disdain for an uncritical audience that accepts anything aqs great than those who will honestly call a lousy show lousy.
And yes, I WOULD rather follow Phish (if I had the time)than listen to this crap...

Amen NY David !
Ain't no time to hate ...
If those are not enjoying themselves...why
spoil the fun others are having.
Dead crowds were always about positive energy even when
being rightfully critical, they found the silver lining or cool tune during even the absolute worst of nights. A tad of respect for one of the founding pillars of jam bands who while in their 60's still get up there and jam for 3 plus hours a night. And if you still don't like them..that's cool too.
Peace brothers !

After enjoying the Friday show in Albany (very good) and last Sunday's show in Worcester (excellent), I am not sure why I was listening to West L.A. Fadeaway, Cumberland Blues, Viola Lee Blues and Samson and Delilah for the second time in ten days! I think it's high time the boys hire a "setlist manager" so they can keep things fresh instead of just randomly throwing 15 or 16 songs together and calling it a show...correction...calling it a show at a hundred bucks a head. And Glory Road? I felt like Chet Atkins had been invited on stage when I wasn't looking. Glory Road? Why not Rawhide or You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me Lucille or Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under...What the %#$@*! was that!
Please retire Watchtower. Thanks for not playing Maggies Farm. Enjoyed Bertha. In conclusion, I felt like I was at an "Enhanced Ratdog" show. Please drive by my house and throw my refund on my lawn. Thanks.

I hate to say this, but I had a ticket and didn't go to the show. I was having nightmares about work and revisting the Dead fell on the wrong day for me unfortunately. However, doesn't sound like I missed much. At my CURRENT stage in life I'm content with catching the you tube videos, archive recordings, and next day set lists and review. I feel like I got my $100 worth just following the tour on virtual reality. Will wait for Justin's DVD and pick one of the digitial downloads from the Dead. Sorry, if I bummed anyone's trip, I missed the 1960s.

did anyone else experience the weird vibe put out near the beginning of Bertha. something happened, i can't explain in words what it was but the sensation practically floored me and left me in a state of disarray for most of the first two songs. it was very strange and beyond the realm of tripping.

My favorite tune for the night was GREATEST STORY. I like the way Warren is doing the rythmn. It's really got a bite to it. Also, I was dancing all crazy and knocked a Hartford Polce Officer right on his ass. With the way things looked outside, I'm lucky that I didn't get arrested. But I guess this cop just had a sense of humor. I don't know what to say other than spectacular. Sometimes Warren gets little loud and less sweet, but I'm really starting to respect the man. He's working really hard and it shows. He's no Kimock, but those overtalented guys can get boring. GREAT JOB, WARREN!!!!
As far as the negativity, well you can't have the ying without the yang. You need that ground to get the current flowing. So let the whiners be. There just doing their job.

this being my third of three consecutive nights, i had high hopes, especially after a night like at the garden. and the first set was quite good. bertha being great and i loved watchtower.
yet i feel the integration of that traditional sound and this new style was not as successfully performed, in comparison to MSG. being more of one or the other rather than flowing together.
and while row jimmy and samson and delilah were not played in the traditional style i feel in love with, i was still able to appreciate it for what it was, great music. ripple for an encore was a treat and great way to round out three consecutive shows.
all in all it was an amazing third night in a row. and i couldnt feel more honored to have experienced the dead in such a way. although a side note. MORE PHIL, i hated the moments when it felt more of and "enhanced ratdog" show, rather then the dead. (to steal Quigga from VA's words).

Overall I thought this was the most mellow show of the tour, save for a few highlights. It was the only show I was able to attend and I walked away disapointed that they didnt light it up a bit more for us. I've listened to almost every show this tour and I believe this was the worst...sorry to be a downer dude.

I was not impressed with this show. I thought it was slow and I could just feel the crowd around me ready to explode, but every time it appeared the band was ready to take off, they went in the opposite direction. While I enjoy Warren with the Allman Brothers, I just don't think he is the right fit for The Dead. I enjoyed listening to Jimmy Herring when he filled in back in 02/03.
